A year ago, two musician friends of mine were killed by a drunk driver. A third was hurt badly. The woman who killed them by driving with a blood alcohol level of .24 was given a 16 year sentence. She seems to have no remorse at all. However, she will not be released early.
She made the choice to drink. She made the choice to drive. She decided not to show remorse for her actions. She now leaves her own three children without their mother. I don’t have any idea how she got to this point, but I sincerely hope she can use the time in jail to figure out what’s going on. I pray, for her and her children, that she will some how get out of jail better than when she went in. I pray that her children can find a healthy path through life having seen their father abuse their mother and their mother kill two people.
