Penelope and I went to see Santa at the mall on December 23rd. Mama still wasn’t feeling very good and Daddoo needed to plead with Santa to bring some presents on Christmas.
P. was amazingly patient and fun. We went to the mall at about 10:30 AM and waited in line for a little over an hour. She entertained the other children, both older and younger than her. She was more patient than a lot of the adults! Though I had her dressed in this beautiful outfit, I figured it was best to let her sit down from time to time. I believe it’s best to let kids be kids rather than force them to act like adults. They’re going to get anxious and perturbed waiting around in line if they have to be on perfect behavior. I gave her some room and she was singing and laughing…
…until we saw Santa. She wasn’t happy about sitting with Santa. He and the photographers tried several times to get her to smile. The awesome (no, really) Santa suggested that I sit next to him and hold Penelope. We got the photo but she still wasn’t very happy. The best part is that it looks like Santa is goosing me. Penelope still looks really cute!
