Statement from the President on Iran
The Iranian government must understand that the world is watching. We mourn each and every innocent life that is lost. We call on the Iranian government to stop all violent and unjust actions against its own people. The universal rights to assembly and free speech must be respected, and the United States stands with all who seek to exercise those rights.
As I said in Cairo, suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. The Iranian people will ultimately judge the actions of their own government. If the Iranian government seeks the respect of the international community, it must respect the dignity of its own people and govern through consent, not coercion.
Martin Luther King once said – “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” I believe that. The international community believes that. And right now, we are bearing witness to the Iranian peoples’ belief in that truth, and we will continue to bear witness.
Christopher Morley wrote the following in the early 20th century but might have written this about me.
LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT
NOT long ago I fell in love,
But unreturned is my affection—
The girl that I’m enamored of
Pays little heed in my direction.I thought I knew her fairly well:
In fact, I’d had my arm around her;
And so it’s hard to have to tell
How unresponsive I have found her.For, though she is not frankly rude,
Her manners quite the wrong way rub me:
It seems to me ingratitude
To let me love her—and then snub me!Though I’m considerate and fond,
She shows no gladness when she spies me—
She gazes off somewhere beyond
And doesn’t even recognize me.Her eyes, so candid, calm and blue,
Seem asking if I can support her
In the style appropriate to
A lady like her father’s daughter.Well, if I can’t then no one can—
And let me add that I intend to:
She’ll never know another man
So fit for her to be a friend to.Not love me, eh? She better had!
By Jove, I’ll make her love me one day;
For, don’t you see, I am her Dad,
And she’ll be three weeks old on Sunday!

Regardless of whether you believe one side to be more ‘right’ than the other, this is horrible. There are a couple of images blacked-out so that you must click on links to see them. I haven’t looked at those. The rest of the images hint enough at the truly horrific.

After a very long time, I’m ready to self-publish a true story about misplaced trust and stupid decisions.
Synopsis.
In 1991, my car was being used by my by mechanic without my permission. The car was then stolen from my mechanic after he got drunk with three transients name Billy, Dwayne, and Betty. Betty later drove it through a guard rail while drunk.
Note: It may seem that all of the ‘good parts’ of the story have just been told. I promise you that these are merely the facts which may draw you into the rest of this look into a story I could not have made up. However, I’ve changed the names to protect the guilty innocent.
